PRAYER FOR PRODIGAL:

Father God, we come before You today as concerned parents of a prodigal. Lord, forgive us for any mistakes we have made as parents and please help us not to blame ourselves for our children’s choices.

Heavenly Father, we bring our prodigal who has wandered away from You and lay him/her in Your loving hands. We know that You are wiser than us and love our prodigal more than we ever could. We trust You and pray that You will draw him/her back to You.

We pray that You will soften their hearts and open their eyes to see Your pure love for them. We pray that You will remove all obstacles quickly that are keeping them from coming home to You.

We pray that You will give us wisdom and patience as we wait for them to repent and return as Your obedient child. Help us to not lose hope of their salvation and strengthen us to walk out this painful journey with Your unconditional love and without compromising Your truths.

Lord, our prodigal is hurting and searching. When our son/daughter hurts we hurt. Help them find their way back to You and safety. Send angels of Your Truth wherever they go to reach them. Shine Your light upon their darkened eyes, hearts, minds, and lives.

Lord, let them remember every seed of scripture planted within their hearts as children, and let Your word and love bring a redeeming harvest into their lives.

Change the circumstances of anything in their life that corrupts their soul. Awaken them to Your soon return and the urgency to come back to You before they perish.

We know that You are a God of restoration, and we trust that You will bring our prodigal back home to You in Your perfect timing.

We thank You for Your loving grace and for keeping our prodigal safe on his/her journey home to You.

We pray our prodigal will be a great witness of Your love and redeeming power once he/she is restored to You and Your kingdom.

We trust, believe, and ask this all in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
